Youth Exchange Weekend 2007

Oswego Rotary Club invited all the exchange students in District 7150 to spend the weekend of November 29 to December 2 in Oswego. Oswego Sunrise Rotarians assisted by housing some of the students. The visitors attended a hockey game at the State University College at Oswego Campus Center ice rink, visited the Scriba Volunteer Fire Department and tried on some of the firemen’s gear, posed for pictures, dined at Bishop’s Commons and Springside at Seneca Hill, and greatly enjoyed one another’s company.

They were welcomed to Oswego on Thursday evening at Bishop’s Commons with a pizza party and then went to their weekend host families’ homes. The next day, Friday, was spent visiting elementary schools, followed by dinner with their host families and a hockey game in the evening.

Saturday began with a tour of the Scriba Fire Station, then lunch at Springside at Seneca Hill, a tour of the College at Oswego, bowling at Lighthouse Lanes, dinner with host families, and concluded with a party at the YMCA Youth Center at Fort Ontario.

Sunday morning was spent with the host families. At 1:00 P.M., students gathered again at Bishop’s Commons to bid farewell to one another and their weekend host families and depart to their homes throughout District 7150.
